Christmas

We are so lucky to have both of our families very close. We are also lucky to have traditions with the holidays and that we don't really have to switch off years because of the way we have everything planned. We really have it made. For Christmas eve every year we go to Brian's parents house for a nice dinner. We started the evening out with Brian reading the Christmas story from the Bible in Luke 2.

Don't know what happened with the color in this picture but doesn't Lauren look cute in her outfit?
The Christmas morning we woke up SUPER early. We woke up at 6:00 in order to fit everything in to our schedule. When we woke Lauren up she kept saying "not yet, not yet". She just wanted to sleep and didn't really care that Santa had come. After we finally got her up she got so excited. We left Santa cookies and milk and an apple for Rudolf. Santa ate all the food and even wrote her a little note. She has talked about this non stop! Santa listened to her wishes and he brought her her very own digital camera. He's trying to get her all tech'd out at an early age.
Annalena got a remote control helicopter from Santa.
Lauren had so much fun opening her presents.
She took 100's of pictures with her new camera. I am so grateful that we live in a digital world. can you image if I had to buy film and get the film developed? I would already be broke.

By 7:00 we were done and SO tired!
After our little nap we got ready for church and headed up to my parents to go to their ward. It was a wonderful sacrament meeting. We really miss that ward. I kept telling Brian that the church just seems more true up there. It's a joke obviously but they really do have a special spirit that is felt there.
After church we went back to their house and opened presents and then had our traditional massive Jeffrey breakfast. We had hash browns (which I make every year), an egg puff, bacon, waffles, and linguica (a Portuguese sausage that my mom used to have every year when she was a little girl with my grandpa). I am so thankful for my Savior and that we could celebrate his birth. Christmas is such a special time of year. Let's try to make it last... all year.
