Christmas!

Christmas was SO FUN this year!! Lauren is at the best age and the teenagers were experiencing Christmas in the US and with a whole new family. Hopefully we didn't let them down.

It's been so much fun to have Brian's parents around this year (they've been on their mission for 3 years in the Philippines). So this year we spent Christmas Eve with Brian's family.

Look how cute this little girl is! We got pictures taken with Santa but our scanner is down right now. I will make sure to scan them soon so you can all see them. They're cute!
Yep, we still like each other. Even after all these years. Speaking of which. We celebrated our 9th anniversary on the 14th. I love this boy!
Tim, Angela, Athena, and new baby Zaria were in town. Not sure where those pictures went but I will find them. It was so fun to see them with their new baby. They've waited a long time to adopt and it's nice that the wait is over for them. They are so happy. It's fun to be able to talk about adoption with people who understand-- not that you don't but, you know what I mean. Their adoption is a lot more closed than they would like it but they couldn't be any happier. To take up some time before dinner was ready, we played a few Ticket to Ride games. We had Europe and Nordic countries going at the same time.

Grandma Jeffrey bought the cutest matching Jammies for Lauren and Kellie's little Philip. Good choice Mom. Look how cute they are!

Elisabeth got some jammies too. She also got the teddy bear from her best friend, Guro, back home.
Lauren was so excited to see what Santa brought her. She got a puppy! Not a real one, sadly, but one that barks and moves. She loves him. Can you tell?

Santa brought Julio a heated blanket. The kid is always cold!! Santa just knew that it's what he needed.

Elisabeth calls her bed "the heaven bed" because it has a 2" memory foam topper. She loves it! So, Santa knew that and he brought her one to take home to Norway so she can sleep in Heaven there too.

Santa brought Lauren another puppy. Actually, this one's name is Doggy- not puppy! He walks on a leash and follows her around. He also barks at her.

Elisabeth's mom made these traditional Norwegian mittens for us. Yep, you read that right. She made them! How awesome are these? Really! Elisabeth measured our hands and then sent home the measurements to her and she made them to fit our hands perfectly. We LOVE them! They were probably my favorite gift. They meant so much. I'm afraid to even wear them because I don't want to ruin them.

The kids with their loot.

Daddy was exhausted. Christmas is a lot to get ready for. I had no idea. Thanks Mom and Dad for all the years of no sleep to make sure that ours was a good one!

After opening the presents we went to my parents house for the traditional breakfast. It's always SO yummy!! It was complete with Linguica (a Portuguese sausage that my mom had on Christmas when she was a kid) and all. Then we opened gifts with them.

Lauren and Philip in their matching jammies.
Then, (yep, busy day)... we went home to rest for a little bit and then headed over to Brian's parents house to open gifts with them. Lauren and Madeline each got special dolls made by grandma June! They are so awesome! They came with a little bed, clothes, barrettes, PJ's and all. She made everything. Such a special gift.
Great grandma Eileen, gave Lauren and Madeline Tinkerbell stuffed animals and a Tinkerbell blanket.
Aunt Amy- can't compete with her! She's the favorite!
If you can't tell, we had a great Christmas! We'll be sad next year to not have the teenagers with us. I can't believe that they've been here for half their time. It's going to be so sad when they go home but we know that they will be a part of our lives forever. Thank goodness for Skype!!
