Since we loved having the kids here last year so much, we decided to host another exchange student for the 11-12 school year. We chose
Annalena Kruger from Germany. She is 16 and she is a junior at our local high school. We wanted to do something fun for her homecoming so here's what we did.
Lauren did a great job of holding the sign at the airport. She was SO excited for "Ballerina" to come and be her big sister for a year.
Here she was getting off the plane. Terrified to meet the smiths.
She realized that we're not total freaks. And that she is going to like it here.
Lauren went right to her.
We took her out to dinner for a traditional
American meal. Guess where we went? Yep, Olive Garden. Not totally American but she liked it.
It's going to be a fun year!
